Peer Link Scheme - at SCI Centres
Our expanding team of Peer Link Workers based within the Spinal Cord Injury Centres are there to assist those about to be discharged by offering one-to-one support to ensure that the transition from hospital to home is as smooth as possible. Regular telephone and email contact is maintained in the weeks following discharge to offer help with any initial concerns, with contact being reduced as and when the newly discharged person feels confident enough to go it alone.
At the moment only two SCI Centres have Peer Link workers attached to them, which are the Middlesbrough or our Cardiff Centres.
The links below will take you to the relevant page within our Peer Support
section, where you will find details of our current Peer Link workers.
Peer Link Scheme - at the SIA Office
Many people find speaking to someone with personal experience of spinal cord injury invaluable. The Peer Link Scheme aims to put SCI people in telephone contact with those who are happy to share the knowledge or experience they have personally gained through living with a spinal cord injury. Using our database of registered Scheme members, our Advice Line staff can put you in touch with other SCI people who have been through similar experiences and who are most suited to help with your particular enquiry.
If you think you could be of help to another SCI person, and would like to
register to become a Peer Link Scheme member, contact the
