General Hospital Experiences
Peter Hanley writes: Some ex-patients complain about the indifferent attitude by the nursing staff in general hospitals to everyday requests such as being turned for pressure relief, bowel management and signs of autonomic dysreflexia. The increase in this type of complaint whilst talking to patients on my weekly visit has led to me asking them to put their complaints in writing and send copies to SIA. Unfortunately, I feel not many people are willing to speak out and be a ‘lone voice’.
