Great British Duck Race
Go Quakers for SIA and sponsor a duck!
31 August 2008
SIA are pleased to be taking part in this year's Great British Duck Race.' The race will take place on Sunday 31st August 2008 on the River Thames, near Hampton Court, Surrey. Our supporters can choose to 'adopt a (rubber) duck' on behalf of SIA, race it down the Thames, and be in with a chance of winning a great prize!
The race is an annual event that currently takes place in 18 countries around the world. The aim is to raise funds for UK charities by sending 165,000 rubber ducks sailing down the Thames. Now that's a sight to see!
The owner of the first duck across the finishing line will win a grand cash prize of £10,000. Further prizes will be awarded to the next 30 ducks that cross the line.
All you need to do is visit SIA's official Great British Duck Race website and adopt a duck (or two). Ducks cost £2* to adopt and if your duck crosses the line first you could win the £10,000 first prize. There are also 30 other top prizes to be won.
(*your £2 includes a donation to the 3 lead charities, however additional donations can be made to support SIA.)
Adopt a duck today! Be a record breaker and join in the fun.
