Thanks to a successful grant from the Rebuilding Lives Through Sport (RLTS) initiative, SIA have been able to assist the British Disabled Ski Team (BDST) in their plan to build an Adult and Youth Development Squad that can receive appropriate training away from the pressures of the main A and B teams. This project reaches down to grass roots level and can encourage disabled skiers who have had little experience but show keeness and potential. Visit the BDST site here
RLTS has been established with the help of Norwich Union and the Peter Harrison Foundation and has the aim of distributing approximately £500,000 in grants to organisations that actively promote and encourage participation of wheelchair users in sport. Funding is available for all projects that meet the criteria and not just to those organisations with spinal cord injured users and members. Find out more about this initiative in the RLTS section .
