Parliamentary Event for the Consumer Justice Alliance

The Spinal Injuries Association is a member of the Consumer Justice Alliance, a broad based coalition of representatives from charities, claimants’ groups, insurers and law firms, all of whom are concerned by the impact of legislation currently being considered in Parliament which will make fair compensation much harder to access for those who need it most.

The Consumer Justice Alliance are hosting an informal drinks reception in Parliament on the 25th October at 4-6pm in to raise awareness among MPs and Lords of the damaging consequences the Sentencing, Legal aid and Punishment of Offenders Bill could have on ordinary people injured through no fault of their own. The event will be an opportunity for those who have received compensation through the use of a ‘no win no fee’ agreement, technically known as ‘Conditional Fee Agreements’ to tell their story directly to MPs, and speak to others who have similarly received fair compensation through legal redress. Staff from the Consumer Justice Alliance would be on hand at the event to support you, as well as talking you through the arrangements for the event ahead of time.

Have you had recent experience of receiving compensation through a ‘no win no fee agreement’?

Would you be willing to speak to the Consumer Justice Alliance to discover whether you could attend the event to help demonstrate to decision-makers that ordinary people need compensation to support them?

If you can answer yes to the above questions, then please email Dan Burden, Head of Public Affairs at d.burden@spinal.co.uk to explore whether it would be appropriate for you to attend the event
