The SIA have launched a new and exciting Cycle-A-Thon event. You have 12 weeks to complete the Cycle-A-Thon and have a choice of cycling 29, 54, 140, 213 or 874 miles (based on the distances of famous events e.g. 140 miles the equivalent mileage to cycling the UK Coast to Coast). The great thing about the Cycle-A-Thon is you can complete your chosen mileage on your own push bike outside, as part of your gym routine on an exercise bike as part of your spinning class, or if you are spinal cord injured on a hand cycle or FES cycle.
You can choose to take part as an individual or as part of a corporate, family or friends team or club. Imagine being able to tell your people you have cycled the same distance as London to Paris, 213 miles, for example. They are bound to be impressed and will want to sponsor you.
Event Details:
YOUR BIKE:
Choose to cycle in one or a combination of the following ways:
o Road bike, mountain bike, tandem bike
o Exercise bike in your local gym
o As part of your spinning class
o Using your own hand cycles or FES cycle
YOUR LOCATION:
Complete your miles at any location of your choice whether that be outside or in a gym as part of your work out session or spinning class.
YOUR MILES:
Choose the level of miles you would like to cycle over 12 weeks:
o Level 1: 29 Miles – Equivalent mileage to cycling London to Windsor
o Level 2: 54 Miles – Equivalent mileage to cycling London to Brighton
o Level 3: 140 Miles – Equivalent mileage to cycling the UK Coast to Coast
o Level 4: 213 Miles – Equivalent mileage to cycling London to Paris
o Level 5: 874 Miles – Equivalent mileage to cycling Lands End to John O’Groats
12 WEEKS:
You have 12 weeks to cycle your chosen level of miles from Saturday the 20th August - Saturday 12th November
