The 51st International Scientific Meeting of ISCoS took place over three days in London at the beginning of September. Delegates from around 80 countries attended the meeting which focused on the management of SCI, scientific issues relating to SCI, as well as looking at the more day to day issues of living with SCI.
SIA’s Chief Executive, Paul Smith, opened the meeting on 3 September with, Dr Fiona Barr, Project Manager for the National SCI Strategy Board. They talked of the 12 year lead up to, and forthcoming launch of, the Care Pathways for SCI, and the development of a National SCI Database, both of which SIA has been campaigning for, for a long time. After Paul’s opening words, the meeting programme commenced.
More details of the whole three day event will be appearing in forward but in the meantime, ESCIF (European Spinal Cord Injury Federation) have provided an account of consumer workshop that they developed and led on the first day - The SCI consumer agenda: global perspectives
