Paralympic Flame Celebrations
Aylesbury Vale District Council and Bucks Disability Service (BuDS) have been working hard together to organise the Paralympic Flame Celebration on 28 August, making it accessible for all.
The event will be a celebration of the courage and determination of disabled people, without whom there would be no Paralympics or special events in Aylesbury Vale. This free event will include performances inspired by London 2012, as well as providing an opportunity to see the flame, as the torch passes through Aylesbury on its way to London.
The event will take place in Aylesbury Town Centre, between 6.00 and 10.00pm. There will also be big screens relaying live pictures of the Torch Relay ceremony, at the Stoke Manderville Stadium.
Council and BuDS have created a VIP viewing area reserved for disabled people, and their carers, in a prime location on the Market Square. People are advised to register for places in the VIP area, which will be allocated by a ballot process. You can register for your places at www.budsflamecelebration.eventbrite.co.uk or by ringing 01494 568 864.
