SIA is becoming increasingly concerned that some Local Authorities are making changes to their contributions (or charging) policies for social care that do not adhere to Government guidelines. The purpose of these changes is to collect more money in contributions to offset cuts in Community Care budgets which in turn is placing an unbearable financial and emotional pressure on some of our members.

SIA will shortly be producing an online survey to get an idea of people’s experiences of social care and how any changes may have affected their social care packages. In the meantime we would like to invite you to take part in a short poll on this subject.
