SIA has increasing evidence that many Local Authorities (Councils) are changing their social care policies as a result of stringent budget cuts, which is dramatically affecting SCI people and the care packages they receive. We are also concerned that individual assessments and re-assessments are being used to drive down the size of care and support packages or collect more money in contributions from service users.
As a result of these concerns we are running an on-line survey to gauge the affect of any policy changes, and the outcomes of recent assessments or re-assessments.. The results of this survey will assist us in campaigning for a more transparent and fairer social care system which better meets the needs of SCI people.
If you rely on your Local Authority to provide your care and support or have been affected by changes to your care and support package, Personal Budget, Direct Payment or your financial contribution please take a moment to fill out our survey
