Image of Advocacy, people helping each other

"Thank you ever so much for your support in my hour of need. It was invaluable indeed".

Advocacy Service

What is the Advocacy Service?

The Spinal Injuries Association’s Advocacy Service supports spinal cord injured people who are pursuing complaints against poor treatment or inaccessible services. These complaints could be made to airports, care providers, district general hospitals, local councils, transport providers or any other business or organisation.

How can the service help me?

The Advocacy Service assists people to represent themselves. We can advise you of the next steps to take, signpost you to relevant materials or put you in touch with organisations that may be able to support you. We have produced self advocacy packs on common areas of complaint which will be available on request or from our website. When you have taken a grievance as far as possible without a satisfactory result, the Advocacy Service will become directly involved to support you. The additional weight of a national organisation like SIA can help progress your cause to bring about a positive outcome.
