I became a C5/6 tetraplegic in 1990 and am now in my fourth term of office as a Trustee, having also previously served as a Vice Chair. I completed a Masters degree in Industrial Relations and began working for BT, where I have had a variety of roles. I currently have lead responsibility for people engagement related to BT's official partnership of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games, which links perfectly with my role as Chair of SIA's Rebuilding Lives through Sport panel, who award grant funding to grassroots wheelchair sports. This was made possible through SIA's nomination as Charity of the Year for the 2008 Flora London Marathon. I am also developing a business venture providing accessible holidays in the UK and Africa.
As a Trustee, I have welcomed the opportunity to support SIA members and am committed to helping the charity thrive and develop, as well as fulfilling my duties as a member of SIA's Campaigning for Change Action Group.
