I'm Peggy Deane and I was injured in a RTA in 1990 when I sustained a T4/5 injury. I am a single mum of three working on arable/contracting farm on the North Norfolk coast. I became involved in local community work in the early years after my accident, taking on a role as Governor at a local Primary school. I served for a number of years as Secretary for the North Norfolk Crossroads Scheme, ending up as joint-Chair. I have been pleased to represent SIA on the Pain Coalition Committee, who are now represented by an All Party Parliamentary Group, and currently serve on SIA's Audit Committee, which oversees the Association's annual audit process. I have also attended a number of SIA fundraising and awareness events, which has given me the opportunity to network with sponsors and representatives of other charities. My specific areas of interest are getting disabled people back into the workplace, and the challenges facing disabled parents.
