It all started on a nice sunny day back in 2003 (March 17th) I had just had a good day at work HGV Driver I had been in Manchester most of the day and popped in to see my future wife (Joan) told her that I would see her and the kids at the weekend.

I started my bike set off down the lane near Preston, the next thing I knew I was in Preston Gen 4 weeks later with all these pipes & tubes wondering what was going on. Joan (the wife to be) told me that I had been in an accident and that I had broken my back (it must have been hard to tell me that I would not walk again) at the time that was the end of my world.

Lots of things happened within the 2 months I was in Preston Gen MAY 16TH 2003.

After another a lot of asking and involvement by SIA I was moved to SCU Oswestry, still could not move was in bed until July (with the free sores which come with a free say in a general hospital), just 2 weeks before I was getting married to Joan. We married at Oswestry the day was good the staff were great with all the help they gave us.

The unit staff worked us hard, which I think we needed which was for our good in which we all know was for the best and I think most of us see that now.

Well that's some of my story more to come

All the best
