Campaigning for Change Manifesto
In 2008 SIA conducted a survey of our membership to see what they considered should be SIA's campaigning priorities over the next three years. The survey was conducted via SIA’s website and the membership magazine forward, and led to SIA's Campaigning for Change Manifesto 2009-11.
The manifesto priorities for 2009-11 are:
-
Preserving and Developing the National Spinal Cord Injury Centre service
-
SCI awareness in District General Hospitals
-
Winter Fuel Payments for disabled people under 60
-
Continence supplies
-
Accessible toilet facilities
-
UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities
-
Welfare benefits
-
Community Care
-
Taxi provision
-
Blue Badges
-
Wheelchair and equipment provision
-
Public Transport
-
Ageing with SCI
These priorities will form the basis of SIA's campaigning until 2011, when the membership will be surveyed again and a new manifesto produced. For more information on these campaigns, please download the manifesto below or follow the link to SIA's current campaigns.
