I am 27 years old and I am a C4/C7 incomplete tetraplegic as the result of an industrial accident almost 5 years ago. I did my initial rehab at Queen's Square and the further rehab at Stoke Mandeville spinal unit.
I am happily married and live with my husband and nephew in North East London. I grew up in Cornwall and then moved to Cardiff for university before moving to London 6 years ago for work. Before my injury I worked as a lighting technician in west end theatre and initially returned to this role following my accident. This work eventually became too physically demanding and inflexible and as a result I now work as a lighting designer. I also previously worked professionally as a drummer and with much hard work and ingenuity am pleased to have managed to adapt my kit so that I can still play. I also now use my musical skills working as a professional percussionist.
I am a developing athlete with the British Disabled Ski Team. I also play wheelchair rugby and love to swim. I used to enjoy rock climbing, having grown up in Cornwall, and I was recently invited to compete at the world disabled climbing championships.
You will find me at Stanmore on Thursdays between 11am and 4pm and at other times please use my mobile number - 07535 419193 or email me at f.brown@spinal.co.uk
