I work full-time as a solicitor and specialise in Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury claims. I became paralysed in 1993 aged 11 years old, and am T6/7 incomplete. I have experience of what it is like to be a child with a spinal cord injury and the impact this had on schooling and employment once an adult. I’ve given presentations and lectures to a wide audience on the practicalities of day to day living with SCI, and have developed and maintained close links with the Association by volunteering at various events and consultations. As a consequence, I have acquired a comprehensive understanding of how the Association works. I recently became a Peer Services volunteer, which involves providing support to newly injured people and their families, and also participated as a case study in the Every Eight Hours campaign held for SCI Awareness Day. Outside of work I enjoy hosting dinner parties, socializing and travelling to Spain. As a Trustee I look forward to representing SCI members by continuing to do the above, which I hope will complement the Trustee role, and ensure that the Association continues to thrive.
