My name is Sam Malcolmson and I'm SIA's Peer Adviser at the Musgrave Park Hospital in Belfast. I am 51 years old and became spinal cord injured at T4 after a fall. I live in Larne in County Antrim, 22 miles away from away from Belfast. Before my injury I worked as a green keeper at a local golf club. I enjoy my work for SIA as Peer Adviser and like meeting and encouraging people.
I am interested in sports, particularly archery, bowling and swimming. I like to help the OTs at Musgrave when they take patients to a local archery centre – at one time I had an archery leader’s qualification but this has since lapsed. I enjoy woodwork, particularly woodturning, and have made things to sell for Musgrave Hospital charities.
I usually visit Musgrave Park on a Tuesday each week between 10am and 4pm. It would be good to meet you there but if you'd prefer to talk to me on the phone, you can call me on 07864 831046.
