Taking part in the Cycle-A-Thon is a fantastic achievement. Your friends, family and colleagues are bound to be impressed that you have cycled the equivalent distance of a famous cycle event, so make sure you get them to sponsor you.
The Cycle-A-Thon challenge will help to raise much needed funds for some of the vital services the Spinal Injuries Association provides, as well as promoting awareness of spinal cord injury. It provides an event that spinal cord injured and non-disabled people can take part in.
Set Up a Just Giving Page
The best and easiest way to help get your fundraising started is to set up a Just Giving page. This is an online fundraising page. Setting up the page is very quick and easy to do and once created you can email the link to all of your friends, family and colleagues and they can very simply sponsor you online. The other advantage of setting up a Just Giving page is that for any money you are sponsored online, you can also receive gift aid which counts towards your sponsorship total. Gift Aid is worth an extra 25p for every £1 you raise if the donor is a UK tax payer. We find that on average those who use Just Giving raise around 10% more funds than those who don’t.
