The opportunity
A great way for Spinal Injuries Association to get better known and raise vital money for spinal cord injured people and their families is by holding Street collections. If you have a few hours during the week free, the occasional Saturday free, enjoy meeting people and want to help this excellent charity then this role is for you.
SIA are looking for volunteers to:
Support and guidance will be given but you will be in charge of leading the project. SIA is a national charity covering England and Wales, they currently have around 1 collection a month but would love to reach out to towns further afield and have 3-4 per month.
If you are organised, good with people and money and want to support SIA then this may be the role for you. Other qualities and skills needed for this role include: An enthusiasm for the work and understanding of SIA; An organised attitude and commitment to seeing a project through to its conclusion; Knowledge of street licensing would be useful but you would receive guidance with this; Experience of planning events and an understanding of community fundraising would be desirable but not essential.
Most of all enthusiasm, charisma, commitment and loyalty would be the best attributes!!
