Join Team SIA on the next edition of our annual overseas cycling challenge, as we take on a 193 mile Italian adventure through Pisa, Florence and Siena.

We’re hoping that our long overdue trip to Tuscany will provide wonderful views, culture galore, and plenty of sunshine, with fantastic food and drink to help you re-energize after a day in the saddle too.

A five day trip (with three days of cycling), you’ll be expertly supported by a fantastic team throughout, and as always, the trip is guaranteed to be fully-accessible.

What’s included:

The tour includes three full days of cycling, top quality hotels for four nights, and all meals from a welcome meal on the first evening (Wednesday) right through to breakfast on the final day (Sunday).

Bike hire can be added in as an extra, although our event providers will also be arranging to courier bikes to and from Pisa (at no extra cost) for anyone who prefers that option.

The trip will also be fully-staffed with team mechanics, first aiders and medics, and even a team chef!  All you have to worry about is the cycling.

Our fantastic fundraising team will also be on hand throughout to help you smash your fundraising target, and help make your efforts as easy, straightforward, and fun as possible.

All riders will also receive our brand new fundraising pack, and a limited edition cycling jersey to commemorate the trip too.

What’s not included:

You’ll need to arrange your own flights and transfers to and from the hotels on the first and last night, although we’ll advise all participants as to the best options to make the process as easy as possible.

All participants will also have to provide valid travel insurance to take part, which is not included in the trip.

Planned Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Pisa:

The trip will officially start in the early evening with a bike fitting and briefing by our incredible trip leaders, before a welcome meal and drinks to get to know the rest of the team. We will have an exploratory trip into the local town, before an early night, ready for the first day of cycling!

Day 2: Pisa to Florence: 66 Miles

Florence is claimed to be the birthplace of the Renaissance, and the “Athens of the Middle Ages”, so as you might expect, we will be surrounded by the type or art, culture and history that attracts millions of tourist each year. Also famed for its’ role in fashion, we hope you will have some time to indulge in a bit of retail therapy before dinner  – an excellent chance to buy a few presents for those at home!

Day 3: Florence to Siena: 49 Miles

The historic City of Siena is a UNESCO world heritage site, and amongst other incredible sights, is home to a 12th Century Cathedral, botanical gardens and a Medicean Fortress! Siena is also famed for its art, museums and most importantly, its cuisine – and we’ll aim to give you time to sample plenty, as a well-earned reward after a hard day’s cycling!

Day 4: Siena to Pisa: 78 Miles

After a slightly shorter day’s cycling on day two, day three will see us take on the longest day of the trip (meaning a slightly earlier start than on the rest of the trip) as we head towards Pisa, and a grand celebration.

We will gather together to ride in procession through to central Pisa, for a celebration of all you have achieved, plenty of local fizz, and the obligatory photos of you all with the Leaning Tower. A celebratory meal will give us the chance to go over highlights of the trip and give out a few prizes.

Day 5: Return Home:

The trip will officially be over post-breakfast, where everyone will have the chance to say a final goodbye, before heading out to explore the city prior to flying home. We are hoping to arrange a nice, late check out (and the ability to leave luggage at the hotel reception), so that you can head out and about for lunch, or take in some of the incredible sights the city has to offer.

As well as the world famous Leaning Tower, Pisa is also home to one of the world’s largest collections of museums, palaces, churches and galleries  – giving you plenty of choice to fill your morning, before heading home.
