About this event
We are excited that the shark dive is coming back in 2025!
Take on this fantastic challenge to dive with one of Europe’s largest collections of sharks at the Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port. You will be diving with the spectacular sand tiger shark, graceful guitar shark, beautiful black tip shark and a whole host of aquatic life. Weighing in at up to 350lbs, and at lengths of 3.2m, the sand tiger sharks are by far the largest in the tank! A totally jawsome experience!
Date and Times
- Friday 7 or Saturday 8 February 2025
- 2pm and 4pm on both days
Fundraising Target
There are two fundraising options for this year’s event:
- £75 registration fee + £675 fundraising target
- £250 registration fee + £500 fundraising target

This is a PADI-recognised discovery scuba session, where you’ll learn basic diving techniques from a highly qualified and experienced team’.
Participants will receive:
- 1 hour classroom training and safety briefing
- 1 hour pool training from the highly experienced and qualified dive team
- 30 minutes of close up and cage free diving
- Full use of the Aquarium’s scuba gear
- Free entry and guided tour for two spectators
- Plus 20% discount for additional spectators
- An “I Dived with the Sharks at Blue Planet Aquarium” certificate
- Support from SIA with fundraising including a free t-shirt and fundraising pack
Important information
As this is a popular event, completing the form does not guarantee a spot, a member of our fundraising team will contact you after the form is submitted. Please note that registration cannot be completed until your medical questionnaire is submitted and approved. We’re working closely with the Blue Planet Aquarium dive team to make the event as accessible as possible, please provide as much detail as you can on your registration form to help us better understand your access requirements.
