Learn from our experts

We’ve gathered spinal cord injury specialists from across the country, to present exciting sessions exploring essential SCI knowledge.

Part of the event will offer concurrent educational sessions, where you will select the topic of your choice to attend, but you will gain access to on-demand viewing of all session after the event. See our agenda below for the range of topics which will be covered:

  • Neurogenic Skin – This session will cover the changes that occur in a person’s skin following a spinal cord injury.
  • The parallel of need: spinal cord injury and mental health – This session will focus on the mental health needs and prevalence of mental health issues within the SCI population.
  • Spinal cord injury: A therapy perspective – This session, designed for physiotherapists and occupational therapists, will address the common challenges within SCI rehabilitation.
  • Neurogenic bowel dysfunction – This session will discuss why neurogenic bowel management is important for someone with SCI or Cauda Equina (CES).
  • Autonomic Dysreflexia – This session aims to highlight the life-threatening nature of AD and what to do if this medical emergency occurs.
  • Panel discussion and Q & A – The closing session, which takes the form of a panel discussion and Q&A, will offer an opportunity to reflect on what has been covered and how you can apply that knowledge in practice. Questions can be submitted throughout the event.
