Our financial consultants are recognised throughout the legal industry as experts in advising injured clients, both prior to and following settlement of their case, and providing ongoing advice and management of the personal injury compensation.
All our financial consultants are highly trained and have many years’ experience working with solicitors and injured claimants and our business is solely focused around providing advice for clients just like you. In fact, combined, the team has around 80 years’ experience in personal injury and over 125 years’ experience in financial planning and wealth management.
Our financial consultants have been involved in advising the government on the structuring of personal injury awards and several members of the Adroit team form part of an expert panel that regularly advise and serve the personal injury legal community.
Putting you first
Adroit’s independent financial planning experts offer a tailored service to suit all your needs. Not only can they ensure that any compensation award together with any entitlement to means-tested benefits are protected, but can also offer expert financial and investment advice to increase the real value of the award to provide long-term financial security.
Many people who receive compensation for a spinal cord injury don’t realise that the amount of compensation they received was based on the assumption that they would seek proper financial advice to set up a diversified portfolio of investments. By not doing so, there’s a good chance your compensation will run out before it’s supposed to.
We can help you plan for a fulfilled life after injury, which includes long-term financial security.
When advising you on investment matters, Adroit’s aim is to take as little risk as possible to provide the returns required to ensure that your personal injury awards lasts as long as it’s required.
What we do
You’re entitled to choose whichever financial adviser you wish to, but please do get in touch and let us explain how we’re different to other IFAs.
Simply give us a call and we’ll be very happy to meet with you at a location and time that best suits you or, if you prefer, will arrange an online video consultation. Once we’ve had our initial meeting, if you decide to go ahead, we’ll work with you to map out a budget and help you to understand how much capital you should be able to spend now on things such as property adaptations, prosthetics a car or even a much-needed holiday.
We’ll then help you work out a sustainable budget that can meet your day to day needs going forward by using sophisticated financial forecasting software that maps out your income and expenditure on a year by year basis. This software enables us to work out how much return we need to make on your investment to ensure it lasts.
We’ll review this regularly and a member of the Adroit team will always be there to advise and assist you with financial matters and will meet with you regularly to carry out ongoing financial reviews to ensure that your needs continue to be catered for.
Due to the nature of our work, many of our clients are in receipt of state benefits. Our consultants are experts in state benefits and will be happy to advise you on these and ways to protect them upon receipt of your award.
At Adroit, we represent a vast number of people who have all kinds of injuries, in addition to supporting many clients who are SCI. For example, we represented Catrin Pugh who suffered 96% burns when the coach she was travelling on through the Alps crashed and caught fire.
I began my financial services career in banking in 1986 and in 1987 moved over to advising clients on life assurance and pensions. I became an independent financial adviser in 1990 and have continued in that career ever since. As a result, I have an extensive amount of experience in the field of financial planning.
I became the UK Head of Financial Planning for Adroit in December 2015 and have since grown the business significantly. I work with a team of extremely talented, specialist financial consultants, paraplanners and administrators.

I’ve worked in financial services for almost 30 years, and specifically Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence for the last 20 years. I’m one of the few nationally recognised experts in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence claims where a financial adviser is required. This advice includes expert witness reports for the Court as well as investing, managing and safeguarding compensation awards following the settlement.
The most rewarding aspect of my career is to look after clients once their claims have settled, and then to look back and see how their lives have been enhanced and improved because of their settlement. Many of my clients have been with me for many decades and I see this as an endorsement of my commitment to them throughout their claim and afterwards.
