Virtual education sessions
We are delighted to be able to offer Trusts and healthcare organisations the opportunity to increase their staff’s knowledge of spinal cord injury (SCI) by offering live virtual education sessions via Zoom, facilitated by members of our team of SCI Nurse Specialists and arranged for a date and time convenient to you. All education is CPD accredited, and delegates will receive a pack of electronic materials to support the information provided in the sessions. Where possible, we will also include a session by one of our Support Network Officers.
Costs are as follows:
Managing Spinal Cord Injury: A basic session will include our Introduction to Spinal Cord Injury presentation, plus one other topic of your choice from the list below. More topics can be added for an additional charge.
– Autonomic Dysreflexia
– Neurogenic Bowel Management
– Neurogenic Bladder Management
– Care of the Skin
– Respiratory Function Following SCI
– Psychological and Emotional Support
Basic session (approx 2 hours): £160 +vat. Additional topics: £45 +vat each. These are the minimum costs per session and include up to 3 delegates.
Up to 7 further delegates can be added for £50 +vat each per basic session and £15 +vat each per additional topic.
Managing the Neurogenic Bowel Following Spinal Cord Injury (theory only): This module will provide delegates with the knowledge required to underpin their practice within the areas of Digital Rectal Examination (DRE), Digital Rectal Stimulation (DRS) and Digital Removal of Faeces (DRF) for spinal cord injured people. £300 +vat. This cost is the minimum charge, and includes up to 3 delegates.
Up to 3 further delegates can be added for £100 +vat each.
Currently, we are only holding sessions on request- once confirmed with the requesting organisation, we will agree timings and a mutually convenient date for the session to take place.
