Introducing our first Trusted Financial Partners: Irwin Mitchell's Financial Planning Team

As you may have seen in the August edition of FORWARD, 2020 has seen the launch of SIA’s new support network, with our first trusted legal partners (in the Legal Sector) supporting that launch, and helping us to offer vital support and advice to our members over what has been a very tough few months.

To complement that support, and add to our network of experts, we are delighted to announced that we will be working with The Financial Planning Team at Irwin Mitchell  as trusted partners over the next year  – to help SCI people with all aspects of financial security and advice post injury.

We are confident that with their support, SIA will be able to help address both the short- and long-term needs of all of our members – not just those who are going through the legal process.

“As longstanding supporters of SIA, we have seen the amazing lengths that Irwin Mitchell and all their staff will go to, in order to get the very best outcomes for SCI people. As a firm they really have done an incredible amount to support our work, whether sponsoring our services, attending events, or hosting training sessions on our behalf.

As individuals they have been equally committed: shaking buckets, running marathons putting on fundraising balls and cycling halfway around the world with SIA on our many adventures – we couldn’t ask for better partners!”

Gary Dawson, SIA Support Network Coordinator

With advice for SIA members (including a free financial health check) forming the basis of their support, we are confident that they can be an excellent source of information for anyone thinking about their financial situation, which we know from first-hand experience can be a big consideration for SCI people (and their family and friends) post injury.

As well as their financial expertise, we are also excited to work with Irwin Mitchell, because we know that as a firm, and as individuals, they really do appreciate how tough life can be on a day-to-day basis for people living with spinal cord injury – and their support across the whole of our organisation can make a big, big difference in terms of how we can offer even greater support to the SCI community.

“We’re delighted to be working with SIA as their first trusted financial partner to create an improved support network and future for those who are living with a spinal cord injury. Our new partnership enables us to provide support on financial planning to ensure everyone who has a spinal injury can live a fulfilled life. We look forward to meeting with SIA members and helping them to meet their financial goals.”

Ed Tomlinson, Head of Financial Planning at Irwin Mitchell:
