Martin's Mountain update
Over the past few months, training for Martin’s Mountain has been in full swing. The climb team have been preparing for Kilimanjaro in the gym, in altitude chambers and most recently in Snowdonia!
For the final training camp before the climb in June, nine members of the climb team including Martin, supported by three members from our climb coordinators AdAstra, spent a weekend in Wales taking on two hikes, one round Llanberis Lake and the other up Snowdon itself. Both treks provided the team with the perfect terrain to test and refine the plans for Kilimanjaro.
The Welsh weekend has helped to prepare the climb team for some of the challenges they will face up Kili, particularly looking after Martin’s bowel, bladder and skin. The BBC also attended the training camp in Snowdonia, capturing footage of Martin and the team taking on these two challenges.
