Our new online training module for healthcare professionals

We’re pleased to announce the launch of our end of life training module for healthcare professionals produced in collaboration with the Princess Alice Hospice

A fulfilled life – the final chapter was developed and produced in collaboration with the Princess Alice Hospice in Surrey.  Our thanks also go to our member Mary Tye for her help in sponsoring this course.

Below we’ve shared a video conversation with Mary’s daughter, Leo about why she and her mum felt so strongly that there was a need for training of this kind.

A fulfilled life – the final chapter

On her mother’s behalf Leo contacted the education team at Princess Alice Hospice and the SCI specialist nurses at SIA. Both charities recognised the need for this education and agreed to work collaboratively, joining their significant palliative & spinal cord injury expertise. We are delighted with the outcome of this collaboration. Here is a high quality education program and resources for clinical teams caring for a person with spinal injury who is approaching the end of their life. This valuable tool is now available to all through the SIA website.

Full knowledge of SCI needs can truly give such patients the best care at the end of their lives, enabling loved ones to have peace of mind that all needs are well understood and managed.
