Our Legal Dinner 2019

On 7 November, we hosted a fabulous black tie event in London – our 2019 Legal Dinner. We were delighted to invite guests to the Honourable Artillery Company in London and were incredibly grateful to our event partners – CFG Law – who were vital in creating such a successful event while also helping us to highlight the wider impact of SCI. As well as being a fundraiser, the event also demonstrated SIA’s vital work, making sure we support every person affected by SCI – including the thousands of family members and friends who are often under-supported, and under-valued.

This year’s dinner had a sporting twist to it, and as well as a few VIPs (guests from West Ham Women’s football Club, and some former England legends) courtesy of our charity partners Vanquish Tech, we were also privileged to be joined by our charity partners Williams Racing and a few other famous faces from the world of sport.

On the night we were able to raise over £60,000, with every penny going towards our vital work. However, the highlight of the evening was the keynote speech delivered by Matt Hampson of the Matt Hampson foundation, who received a standing ovation for a speech covering his injury, life after SCI and everything he has done since to campaign, support and empower SCI people through the work of his foundation. Matt’s speech helped reinforce the theme of the night – supported by a collaborative project between CFG Law and SIA – to show the emotional effects of SCI on friends and families, and reiterated how vital it is that charities such as SIA are here to support everyone affected by SCI.

We would like to thank our event partners CFG Law, all our guests and sporting partners who attended, and Matt Hampson and his team for helping make this year’s Legal Dinner an incredible success.
