Peer Support Officer Vacancy at SIA

Peer Support Officer Vacancy at SIA

We are looking to recruit a Peer Support Officer to join our team and provide support specifically within the Wales & Borders region, covering South Wales, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Bristol.  Due to the nature of the work we anticipate that the post holder will be spinal cord injured, and will be required to undergo relevant checks with the Disclosure & Barring Service.

The provision of peer-led support to newly spinal cord injured people and their families is at the core of SIA’s service delivery activities, with our team of Peer Support Officers working in a variety of settings up and down the country, including in SCI Centres. Their role is to provide much-needed support to those coming to terms with the impact of such a life-changing injury, acting as positive role models and playing an active part in the delivery of other frontline SIA services. Our PSOs also act as ambassadors for the charity, particularly when working to forge relationships with healthcare professionals and/or key supporters of our work.

This post is part-time (30 hours per week by agreement) and is offered at a salary of £20,706 per annum (£25,883 pro rata) plus access to life assurance and pension schemes.
