Speaking of his appointment, Nik Hartley said:
‘I am truly moved to have been offered the opportunity to lead the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA). I have spent my whole career supporting movements and programmes around the world that deliver justice for the most excluded in society and so to have the opportunity to work with one of our country’s truly inspirational charities is nothing short of a privilege. Since its foundation in 1974 SIA has been driven by spinal cord injured people from around the country that make up its 10,000+ members. With that amazing foundation, I am absolutely certain there is an opportunity to go forward with the goal of transforming the lives of every spinal cord injured person in this country. I cannot wait to begin working with SIA’s brilliant team of staff and volunteers’.
