Help create a better tomorrow for everyone paralysed by spinal cord injury

We’re recruiting two new Trustees who, like us, share our burning ambition that every person paralysed by spinal cord injury should lead a fulfilled life. To support the 50,000 people living in the UK with a spinal cord injury and the hundreds of thousands of people who are their families, friends and loved ones we’re building a nationwide network of expert people and partners. It’s both ambitious and innovative, but no less than what is needed.

Passionate about helping people paralysed by spinal cord injury to lead the best life they can, with lived experienced of spinal cord injury, our Trustees use their own skills and experience to ensure that we are a truly “user-led” organisation building a better SIA able to serve the needs of every spinal cord injured (SCI) person. Through good governance, Trustees ensure we are a well-run and responsible organization.

We are seeking applicants who share our enthusiasm and determination for a better life for every SCI person. We see potential as equal to experience and positively welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and from women who are both currently under-represented on the Board. We are prioritising applicants who have lived experience of, or have been affected, by spinal cord injury.

You’ll have good judgement, personal integrity and ideally skills and experience in one of the following areas:

  • a rights-based campaigning background
  • network building
  • digital engagement
  • leadership/ change/ governance
