About this event
Our local community groups are a great way of connecting to other people with SCI, their friends and families and they offer regular opportunities to socialise.
** August Update
Due to school holidays the location and time for the August group has been changed. This meet up will now take place at the Hull Truck Theatre on 20 August from 12:30 – 2.:30. Please accept out apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. We will be back at The Deep in September!
The Hull spinal cord injury community group normally meets on the third Thursday of the month from 1:30pm – 2:30pm at The Deep aquarium.
- There’s no formal agenda – just a relaxed, welcoming space to grab a coffee and a cake, have a chat, and meet like-minded people.
- Its free to come along, and you’re welcome to explore the aquarium at your own pace when you leave the group. There are also food and drink options available on-site, so you can make the most of your visit.
If you’re interested in coming along or want to find out more, feel free to drop your host SIA support coordinator Joe a message [email protected].
Meet your host – Joe
Hello! My name is Joe, and I’m your regional support coordinator in Yorkshire. I sustained a T10 to L2 spinal cord injury after a biking accident whilst working in Aberdeen. The first few months of my recovery I had very little movement in my legs but have since regained the ability to walk using a stick, but I still use a wheelchair for longer distances.
If you’ve recently become injured, already living with a spinal cord injury, or are close to someone who is, you’re in the right place. You can book a support session, book a call or find out more about the upcoming community groups by contacting your local support coordinator.
