London (Kings Cross) community group

Wednesday 18 March 2026

About this event

Our local community groups are a great way of connecting to other people with SCI, their friends and families and they offer regular opportunities to socialise.

The wait is finally over! Our London Community Groups are officially set, and we cannot wait to swap the screens for some real-life connections. Grab a coffee and let’s get the conversation started at these two iconic spots:

• King’s Cross Station: 18 March | 11:00 – 13:00 at The Parcel Yard
• Hillingdon: 23 March | 11:00 – 13:00 at The Red Lion, Royal Lane, Uxbridge UB8 3QP

Both venues are fully wheelchair accessible. If you have any specific needs or questions please get in touch. If you are interested in attending this group then please email your local support coordinator Sau [email protected]

COMING SOON! London Zoo Community Group

Our London Zoo Community Group Trip is happening on 30 April at 10:15am, and we can’t wait to share this amazing experience with you! Places are limited, and priority will go to those attending the London Community Groups on 18th and 23rd March.

If you’d like to join us, please email me to register your interest. Names will be randomly drawn on 15th April, and I’ll let you know shortly after if you’ve secured a spot. Your ticket will also include free entry for a carer.

** Please be aware that some areas of the zoo are quite steep—if you need support getting around, feel free to bring someone with you and let us know. Directions and travel information can be found HERE.

If you have any further questions, please get in touch with Sau directly.

Meet your host – Sau Tran

Sau Tran SIA support network coordinator London portrait photo at SIA House

Hi! My name is Sau Tran, and I’m your new regional support coordinator in the Greater London area.

I sustained my injury in a road traffic accident in August 2013, whilst training to do the London to Paris cycle ride with friends. The last thing I remember was having a massive slice of cake at the cafe we were meeting at! I was airlifted to the hospital and induced into a coma. I’m T3 complete, with no movement or sensation below my level of injury.

Outside of work, I love travelling and adventure. I have bungee jumped in Australia, paraglided in Brazil, ziplined along the Niagara Falls, scuba dived in Egypt, Mexico and the Galapagos islands … the only continent I’ve not been to is Antarctica! I also enjoy eating out and tasting new cuisines, and try to keep fit by doing CrossFit.

If you’ve recently become injured, already living with a spinal cord injury, or are close to someone who is, you’re in the right place. You can book a support session, book a call or find out more about the upcoming community groups by contacting your local support coordinator.
