If you or someone close to you has suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury as a result of negligence, it’s vital that you have the right team to support you with a compensation claim.

At RWK Goodman our team of specialist spinal cord injury solicitors deliver more than compensation. We’ll build a team around you and your family and ensure you get the personal, medical, legal and financial support you deserve to enable a fulfilling life after spinal cord injury.

We’ll work hard to complete your claim as quickly as possible – without compromising the outcome. And wherever possible we’ll seek interim payments during the course of the claim. This can help to fund your rehabilitation therapies, specialist equipment, care and accommodation.

Unique approach

We represent spinal cord injured people across England and Wales and understand their often complex needs.

As well as helping secure the compensation you deserve, we often continue to act as clients’ lifelong legal partners, taking care of all your legal needs as they arise. For example, in certain circumstances our specialist compensation protection unit can create a ‘personal injury trust’ to help to protect your entitlement to means-tested benefits and state funded care.

Our services

We specialise in all types of spinal cord injury compensation claims. Most commonly these include personal injury claims such as:

We also represent clients with claims due to clinical negligence, such as:

Our client’s story

Our client worked at the stables of a horse-riding company. While leading a horse, the animal unexpectedly kicked him in the side of the face. This resulted in our client suffering a spinal cord injury, causing C6 incomplete tetraplegia.

We took over the claim after another leading national firm rejected it due to lack of prospects, and alleged that the defendant was strictly liable to our client for his injuries, pursuant to Section 2(2) of the Animals Act 1971.

The claim was issued in the High Court and despite liability being denied, we successfully recovered substantial compensation for our client. This compensation has enabled him to buy suitable alternative accommodation as well as equipment, therapies and a tailored care package.
