The difference your grant can make

 

Community group meeting

  • £60,000 could help to fund the annual cost of a spinal cord injury specialist clinician, providing vital advocacy to people with spinal cord injury who are in hospital, as well as essential guidance to the healthcare professionals caring for them.

 

  • £2,500 could help fund SIA’s community groups giving people with spinal cord injury across the country a safe space to meet others and talk openly about their challenges and experiences.

 

  • £235 helps to cover the cost of a consultation with a spinal cord injury clinical specialist, providing life-saving support and advocacy and reducing unnecessary hospital admissions.

 

  • £106 would help cover the cost of a peer support session providing families with vital advice and support from the perspective of someone who has lived experience of spinal cord injury.

  • £46 could cover the cost of a phone call to SIA’s support line from someone who urgently needs help and advice following a spinal cord injury.

 

  • £26 could help fund an hour-long counselling session for people struggling to cope with the mental and emotional impact of spinal cord injury.

 

  • £19 could help keep SIA’s support coordinators on the road by covering their average daily fuel costs as they visit families learning to adjust to life with spinal cord injury.

 

  • £14 could fund the cost of a phone call to one of SIA’s support coordinators, providing practical advice as well as connecting them to SIA’s network of support services.
