Remembering Baroness Rosalie Wilkins

We were so very sad to learn about the news of Baroness Rosalie Wilkins of Chesham Bois who passed away earlier this month.

Baroness Wilkins was an officer and stalwart member of the APPG for spinal cord injury, and worked alongside our president, the late Baroness Masham, and our parliamentary team to influence the changes needed.

Baroness Rosalie Wilkins

Baroness Wilkins served on the Central Health Services Council (1974–1976) and the BBC General Advisory Council (1976–1978), as well as shaping policies as part of the Prince of Wales’ Advisory Group on Disability (1982–1990).

For SIA Baroness Wilkins was simply a passionate advocate for change. Her legacy reminds us of all the profound impact one person can have in driving inclusion and equality for disabled people. We will miss her greatly.
