Trusted Care Partner of the Month – Abbots Care
We are proud to recognise this month’s Trusted Care Partner for their outstanding commitment, leadership, and advocacy for people living with spinal cord injury.
In 2025 Abbots Care SIA’s trusted care partner, celebrated their 30th year as a complex care provider. They have a CQC-outstanding rating in Hertfordshire and their CEO Camille Leavold was awarded an MBE for her impact on the care sector.
Abbots Care were proud headline sponsors of Team SIA at the 2025 Superhero Triathlon where they entered two teams and raised £552 for SIA!

They’re passionate about empowering clients with spinal cord injuries to live life to the fullest. A client with SCI who is currently supported by Abbots Care said:
“After a car accident many years ago, it became clear that I would never be able to live independently. As a young man, I did not want my disability to hinder me from living life to the fullest. Although being paralysed limits what I can do, having a live-in care worker has opened doors to many activities I enjoy, such as going to the local pub with friends or using my in-house gym.
Luckily, my family and friends live close by, but I do not want to solely rely on them. Having a live-in care worker available 24/7 allows me to be independent and enjoy life to the fullest. It was important for me to choose carers I could relate to and share similar interests with since we spend most of our time together”.
They are also currently running a ‘Tea, Time and Togetherness’ campaign with the goal of delivering 100 free hours of companionship across the winter period to their clients who may be experiencing loneliness during the winter months.

In 2025, Abbots Care has been part of an Elk cushion pilot scheme, helping to get people who have fallen at home back on their feet safely, thereby reducing the strain on local emergency services, and reducing the risk of vulnerable people lying on the floor and waiting up to 12 hours for emergency services to arrive.
We are proud to have Abbots Care as one of our trusted care partner for people with SCI and will continue to collaborate for the SCI community now and in the future.
