Hi, I’m Andy Adamson. I have a spinal injury and was injured 17 years ago in a mountain biking accident. I have a T3 complete SCI so use a manual chair for getting around. I also worked for a Spinal Injury Charity called Back Up and still volunteer for them teaching wheelchair skills which give people the skills and confidence to get out and about. Building up confidence to get out and about was a big part of my early journey with an SCI as it enabled me to start looking at getting back into work and into the activities I enjoy.

I travel a lot now for both work and leisure including for handcycling and sit skiing and although things are far from perfect, there is usually a way to make things work – with the right planning and preparation of course!
