SIA wins podcast of the year at 2026 UK Content Awards
Spinal Injuries Association ‘I Didn’t Plan on This’ podcast has won podcast/audio campaign of the year at the UK Content Awards.
Judges comment:
“Really worthwhile content series, which was tackled appropriately and delicately enough, without being patronising. Clear objectives which, while not commercial, can be quantified with feedback.”
The podcast series released in February 2026 was created to give voice and visibility to people whose lives are shaped, directly or indirectly by spinal cord injury (SCI) and it’s fantastic to see the raw and honest experiences recognised in this way.
This podcast brings more than the usual triumph over tragedy narrative that exists in many media outlets around spinal cord injury and reflects the truth often missing from public perception. Many people build fulfilled and ambitious lives despite the many barriers they face BUT only with the right support from family and charities like SIA connecting them to a lifetime of support.
