Introducing our Champion for Sport Cam Treble

We are delighted to introduce you to Cam Treble, our new SIA Champion for Sport.

cam treble SIA champion for sport Cam is a keen sportsman, an adventurer, and self-proclaimed “guy that fell out of the sky”. After sustaining his spinal cord injury in 2025, he has gone on to document his recovery and journey back into sport, showing the ups and downs to help inspire other newly injured people.

Cam sustained a spinal cord injury after a paragliding accident at 32-years-old. Before his injury, he worked as an expedition leader, taking young adults into developing countries to work on community projects. During the winters, he lived in the French Alps, spending as much time as possible speed riding. He would ride motorbikes around the world and get involved in as many adventure sports as possible.

After sustaining his spinal cord injury, Cam was determined not only to get back into sports, but to also help others do the same. As our new SIA champion for sport, Cam will be sharing his tips and tricks for getting back into fitness after spinal cord injury. From how to join a gym, to trying out a new sport, Cam will be sharing his experiences and ideas for navigating the ups and downs of pursuing a fitness journey after injury.

Meet Cam

The news that my legs would never work again didn’t break me in the way you might expect. I decided that this wasn’t the end of my life. It was the beginning of a completely different and exciting new chapter.

My biggest concern was whether I would ever be able to access the things I loved again. When I was in hospital, I turned to social media looking for inspiration. I found a handful of people who showed me what life after a spinal cord injury could look like, and that gave me something I desperately needed at the time: hope.

But I also realised there was a huge gap. There wasn’t enough real, honest and accessible information about spinal cord injury and what life can actually look like afterwards. So I decided to share my own journey.

I wanted people to see the good days, the bad days, the frustrations, the laughs, the adventures and everything in between. If someone sitting in a hospital bed could see my story and think, maybe my life isn’t over either, then sharing it would be worth it.

I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have an amazing network of friends and family supporting me every push of the way, and I don’t want to take that for granted. I want to turn that support into something bigger. Using sport to create opportunities, bring people together, build confidence and show others what’s possible.

Sport can offer so much more than competition. It can provide belonging, purpose and identity, while teaching resilience, discipline and self-belief.

I want to help create those opportunities for others, while also pushing myself to discover just how far I can go. I want to compete at the highest level possible, challenge my limits and see where the journey takes me.
