New legal partnerships to support people living with spinal cord injury
We’re pleased to share that SIA is launching a new four-year programme of legal partnerships to help people affected by spinal cord injury (SCI) get the right advice and support, when they need it.
With the previous, three-year legal partnerships coming to an end, we took time to review what worked well and where we could make improvement. We then ran a careful selection process to make sure we’re working with law firms who really understand spinal cord injury and the day-to-day challenges people can face after injury.
For the next four year, we will be working with 11 specialist law firms across England and Wales. Each of our 11 regions will be supported by two partners, so people have a choice about who they work with and can find the support that feels right for them.
These partnerships help us move closer to our vision of a fulfilled life for everyone affected by spinal cord injury, by making sure people can access clear, practical legal advice that supports their independence and long-term wellbeing.
Our legal partners can help with a broad range of issues, such as injury claims, rehabilitation, housing, employment, and planning for the future – all with an understanding of life after SCI.
We’d like to thank the firms who supported our community during the previous partnership period. We now look forward to working with our new partners over the next four years. Click on the logos below to find out more about each partner:

Nik Hartley, CEO of SIA said: “I first want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our Trusted Legal Partners who have worked alongside us over the past three years. Their commitment, expertise, and understanding of spinal cord injury has made a real and lasting difference to the lives of the people we support. We are deeply grateful for their contribution to SIA and to the wider SCI community.
As we launch a new four-year cycle of partnerships, we are excited to build on that strong foundation. Our newly selected partners were selected based on criteria built by a panel of experts and people with lived experience of SCI. The process demanded a deep look at the expertise and experience being offered for our members. All of those selected bring specialist knowledge and a shared belief in our vision of a fulfilled life for anyone affected by spinal cord injury. The partnerships will ensure people with SCI have access to the expertise and advocacy they need to represent their needs and break down the barriers they face. These legal partnerships are also part of a much larger and growing network of organisations who can together champion independence and improve life for every person affected by spinal cord injury. I look forward to the impact we will achieve together over the coming years.”
