Pavement parking petition

Pavement parking affects everyone, but is especially dangerous for disabled people, including people with sight loss and wheelchair users, as well as parents with children, and older people.

Cars on pavements can make it difficult for people to get to work, education, or social activities. The constant fear that cars will block their way can also reduce peoples’ confidence to leave their house alone.

The charity Guide Dogs is leading a campaign for new laws on pavement parking, supported by many organisations and charities, including SIA. As part of this campaign, Guide Dogs has launched a petition on Parliament’s petition website asking the Government to create a new law where pavement parking is illegal, except in areas deemed necessary, as it is in London and soon to be in Scotland.

If this is something that you’d like to endorse, then please sign the petition.
