Story
In late August 2026 James MacDonald, an amateur cyclist with multiple world records under his belt, will attempt to complete all five recognised cycling Monuments back-to-back. The clock starts at the Paris–Roubaix start line and stops when James crosses the Milan–San Remo finish line. It does not stop for anything in between: transfers, sleep, food, mechanical issues, and medical treatment.

James is an amateur rider taking on routes that the world’s best professional cyclists contest individually, over a single season, with full team support. He will complete all five non-stop.
The physical and mental endurance dimension is as compelling as the cycling achievement itself. This is a challenge about preparation, discipline, and the refusal to stop when conditions get difficult.
In addition to the personal challenge, James will be raising money for SIA’s Frank Williams Academy. Paralysed in a car accident aged 44, Sir Frank Williams went on to achieve so much. SIA’s Frank Williams Academy is his legacy, aimed at transforming the lives of people with spinal cord injury through education, training, research, and development.
